Commercial Alarms: An Investment in the safety of your Burlington Business

Business owners in the Burlington area invest a lot of time and money in their commercial properties and whatever they may contain, whether that takes the form of stock, inventory, special equipment or computers and servers that are crucial to conducting business.

With all of this investment it is vital that you make sure your business is protected and one of the best ways to do that is through Commercial Alarms. In today’s blog we will be looking at commercial alarm systems and how they can represent an investment in the safety of your Burlington Business.

Why choose a Commercial Alarm System?

There are many benefits to having an alarm system protecting your Burlington business. An example of this is protecting your business from theft and vandalism as businesses that operate commercial properties are often at greater risk due to longer periods when those properties may be unoccupied. Alarm Systems can also protect against damage from fire or water through things like fire alarms and water incursion detectors. Alarm Systems can also give your employees a greater sense of safety and security as they know that either they or the authorities will be notified immediately when there is a breach.

Wired or Wireless

Wired Alarm Systems are connected directly to a wired telephone system and therefore suffer no disruptions from internet service difficulties. However, you will need to consider the wiring when deciding where to install the sensors and control panels. These alarm systems also will not function if the power goes out and the wires can be severed to disable the system. They also tend to have higher upfront costs associated with them.

With a wireless system you are able to install sensors and control panels wherever you like, as long as they are within optimal communication range. The lack of wires also lowers the upfront costs of a wireless system. However wireless systems require a strong internet connection and are vulnerable to internet service outages.

Monitored or Unmonitored

Monitored Alarm Systems send a silent signal to a remote security monitoring center which then sends a notification to the business owner or business employees who can then contact the necessary responders like police or firefighters. You usually need to pay a monthly fee for your system to be monitored.

Unmonitored Alarm Systems often signal a breach by sounding a physical or visual alarm that notifies on site staff of the breach. These systems are best for businesses that always have employees or security personnel on site to respond to potential breaches.
